Can You believe it?

This is probably the wierdest thing I have ever done, but I figure that if my brother (who by the way is a grandfather) can have a blog, surely his much younger sister can too. So, I am now a blogger.
My first posting is going to be rather serious. I would like to see a new law written into existence. Any woman who gives birth to a child with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome should immediately have her uterus removed. I have had 47 foster kids in my home since 1994 and about 75% of them have FAS, but the 16 year old I have now is by far the worst. He will never be able to drive a car, get a job or live by himself. The thing that makes me so angry about this is that he knows he has FAS and that his life is changed forever because of his birth mom's totally selfish and destructive behavior. All a woman has to do is not drink for 9 months of her life. If she wants to be a drunk after that she throws her life down the toilet. Her kids can be put into a good foster home or adopted to a good family and have a chance at becoming productive members of society. Nine stinking months is all it takes. If she doesn't care about herself, she affects only herself. If she doesn't care about her kids they can be removed and given to someone who will care for them. The 16 year old who now lives with me has 3 brothers and a sister. The brothers have all been adopted to separate families and the sister, who was in a good home until she was 15. The sister is now living on the streets in Vancouver as a prostitute. She has already had 3 children taken from her, all with FAS. She has to agree to having her tubes tied, which she won't do, and the government is helpless to stop her from having more babies with FAS. And then those kids grow up and do the same thing. And the problem perpetually gets bigger. So, now I am done ranting on this subject. I will probably revisit this topic from time to time as events unfold in my home.

Auntie Margaret,
Glad to see you are blogging, and agree with Angie, none of us are ever going to be productive again. It upsets me so much that women do this to their children, and more that there is then this cloud hanging over the child for the rest of his life. It's unfair. I'm all for the tube tying process, but then I'm all for rapists being castrated. Punishment has to fit the crime right??

Hey Ange, me too Carolyn Braun would... oh no... she's far too busy. OK Ange. If you can get enough of the Brauns to go along I think you should do it. Mel, I agree about the casteration. I Think it should be as close to the bone as possible and if he has to pee through a tube, well, if he can't keep his tool belt where it belongs someone else could.
Wow Ange, you're right we are a bunch of vigilantes. Makes me wonder what a Braun website would look like.
