Please pray for Jack

We have all been fighting the flu here for the past 6 weeks. I have been coughing since mid January and now I am getting another cold. I haven't even gotten over the last one. Alethea has a bad head and chest cold and has lost her voice since Thursday. Jack, however has me quite concerned. He didn't get a bad cold and it has been gone for about 3 weeks. Then last weekend he got a headache that completely stopped him in his tracks. He went to school on Monday, but came home after his first class. All week he has tried to be in school, but every day ends up coming home and going to bed. Now he has such a bad headache that most of the time he can't even lay down. He sits up with ice packs over his eyes and often holding one to each of his temples. Yesterday, he could barely see from his left eye, but didn't tell me until this morning. He has been taking Advil, Tylenol, and Ibuprofen and nothing helps. In the morning he gets up around 6 and takes something for pain and goes back to bed. By around 7:30 he can function enough to go to school, but then ends up at home again by 11 am. He is worried, but hopes it is only because he needs glasses. I am worried because I think it may be an infection from having the 'flu. So please pray that he will be alright. We are going to the after hours clinic as soon as I finish posting this.

I will definately say a prayer for him. The flu this year has been brutal. I hope it's nothing more serious.

I also got a cold when I wasn't even finished with the first one yet. That has never happened to me.
I was going to suggest you just take him straight to the dr's but you've already done that (although sometimes I wonder if those are real Dr's that work in the after hours clinic)
Our prayers are with you all.

We got back from the drs and sometimes I feel like the only ones who work at the after hours are the ones who don't have great office hours. He didn't do blood tests or anything. Just told him that some people get this headache before getting the soar throat and coughing. This is the first time I have said that if my kid doesn't get the flu in a couple of days I'm taking him to the doctor. About 2 hours after getting home from the doctor he was in such pain he could almost not stand it. He couldn't even sit still. He was pacing all over the house and when Tye told him he should go lay down, Jack stood there and pulled at his hair and yelled, "I can't lay down. It hurts too much." He had ice packs on his head and had taken all extra pain killers he could. I have never felt so helpless, but there was nothing I could do. So. please continue to pray.

Oh no. They didn't give him anything?! And just said it preceeds a sore throat and coughing? Um... if you have a really sore throat and are coughing, don't they suggest that you... oh, I don't know... GO TO A DOCTOR?! Here, just wait until he gets REALLY sick, then maybe we'll think about doing something. *shakes head* That's stupid. Take him to the main clinic tomorrow. They're accepting new patients there. I'd call right in the morning. Try to get Dr. Salim Parker. He's mine, and I like him a lot so far. He should be able to get in within a couple of days. Kyle called and got in that day. I'll pray for Jack, gosh, that sounds so awful!!

Is it me, or are all Doctors morons?

Kinda like when Carolyn had an allergic reaction to some drugs, and the Dr at the clinic referred to Scarlet Fever. Man, even when I heard what the symptoms were, it sounded to me like some sort of allergic reaction.

I would find a different doctor for sure. Taking all those pain killers for an extended period of time can't be good either.

I saw auntie Margaret this morning and she was taking Jack in again to see another doctor. Just an update. Hope he's feeling better. I know the feeling of wanting to rip out your hair with a migraine that bad. I get them occasionally and they make me wish I were dead.

In other news, love the new layout.
